Backfilling spiling and digging inlet

This housing development included an inlet from the local river as a landscaping feature but one side was bounded by a wall and a softer bank was required for aesthetic and environmental reasons. Spiling was specified and this was to feature along the 100m length of the inlet.

JPR Environmental installed spiling up to a metre in height and fixed each stake with a tie back to the recently built wall. We supervised the backfilling and excavation of the inlet to create a natural and highly attractive landscaping feature on this executive development.
We were asked to return the following year to install 10m of additional spiling around an outlet into the river adjoining the site.
