Reeds & Reedbed Construction

JPR Environmental offers a complete reedbed design and construction service, from the initial planning to the groundwork and planting out. We will also undertake renovation programs for existing reedbeds.

Whether it be creating a reedbed for biodiversity, using reeds as the final process in treating waste water or improving an existing reedbed, we can help.

JPR Environmental also supplies quality pot grown reeds (Phragmites australis) in a range of sizes from 60cc plugs to half litre pots nationwide. For a highly competitive quote on large orders please contact us. We will also undertake seed collection and testing where local provenance reeds are desired. All plants are grown in peat free potting compost.

We are happy to carry out reed and wetland planting across the UK using our experienced teams to ensure planting success.

JPR Environmental can supply and install floating reedbeds which contribute to water cleanliness by filtering out suspended solids and playing host to bacteria that breakdown harmful pollutants. They are constructed from a durable buoyant platform supporting a coir pallet that is planted with Common Reed. This allows the reeds to thrive in areas and depths not normally suited to their growth.

JPR Environmental is a founder member of the Constructed Wetlands Association, the professional body for organisations that design and build wetlands and reedbeds for water treatment.
